Happy Birthday, International Peace Day!

Created by a United Nations resolution in 1981 to coincide with the General Assembly opening, the first Peace Day was celebrated in September 1982.

September 21 was officially declared the permanent date for the International Day of Peace in 2002. It is observed by many nations & military groups. It is observed with actions of peace. A temporary ceasefire may occur in a combat zone if this is observed.
